iPhone battery replacement prices UK — 2026

Apple’s official prices

Apple offers battery replacements through Apple Stores and authorised service providers. Prices for out-of-warranty devices currently range from £49 to £139 depending on the model. If you have AppleCare+ and your battery capacity has fallen below 80%, you may be entitled to a replacement at no extra cost. Apple’s official pricing is transparent but tends to be at the higher end of the market, and appointments can have lead times of several days.

Is it worth replacing your iPhone battery?

In most cases, yes — if the rest of the phone is in good shape. A battery replacement is far cheaper than buying a new iPhone, and it typically restores the phone’s performance immediately. Apple introduced performance throttling on older iPhones with degraded batteries, which means a new battery can also make the phone feel noticeably faster as well as lasting longer on a charge.

A battery replacement generally makes sense if:

  • Your battery health is below 80% (Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging)
  • Your phone shuts down unexpectedly before reaching 0%
  • The phone drains noticeably faster than it used to
  • The phone feels slower than normal during everyday use
  • The battery is swelling — get this checked immediately

For iPhones from the 7 generation onwards, a battery replacement is almost always better value than upgrading, unless the screen, cameras or body are also damaged beyond reasonable repair. If your phone also has a cracked screen, we can often repair both on the same job — see our iPhone screen repair page for pricing.

How to check your iPhone battery health

Before booking a replacement, check your current battery health:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Battery
  3. Select Battery Health & Charging
  4. Check Maximum Capacity

If the Maximum Capacity is below 80%, your battery is officially degraded and a replacement will make a noticeable difference. If it’s above 80% but you’re still experiencing drain issues, the problem may be a specific app or a charging port fault rather than the battery itself.

Common questions about iPhone battery replacement

Will a battery replacement wipe my data?
No. A battery replacement does not affect your data. We still recommend backing up before sending your phone as good practice, but the repair itself only involves the battery.

How long does iPhone battery replacement take?
The battery replacement itself takes less than an hour on the bench. With mail-in, the total turnaround including postage both ways is typically 3–5 working days.

Does a new battery come with a warranty?
Yes. All battery replacements at Repair My Crack include a warranty on parts and labour. See our full warranty terms.

Can you replace the battery and fix the screen at the same time?
Yes. If your phone needs more than one repair, add both at checkout or contact us and we’ll quote for everything together. Combining repairs saves on postage and turnaround time.

Is it safe to post my iPhone for battery replacement?
Yes. We use tracked Royal Mail postage with insurance cover. See our mail-in repair guide for full details on packaging and what to expect.

What if my battery is swollen?
A swollen battery should be treated urgently — do not charge the phone or apply pressure to the screen. Contact us first for advice on safe packaging before posting.

Do you repair Samsung batteries too?
Yes — see our Samsung battery replacement guide for pricing and models covered.
