A note on school and family iPads

The things customers usually ask before booking an iPad 8th Gen repair.
How do I know whether I need a black or white screen?
Look at the border around the display when the iPad is off. White frame means White; black frame means Black. It isn’t the same as the colour of the back — a silver iPad usually has a white bezel, a space grey one usually has black.
Can you repair several iPads at once?
Yes, and it’s easier for everyone if you send them together. Get in touch with how many you have and what’s wrong with each, and we’ll sort out postage and pricing in one go rather than you booking them individually.
My glass is cracked but the picture is fine. Is that cheaper?
Possibly. On this generation the glass and display are separate layers, so damage to one doesn’t always mean replacing both. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you what it actually needs.
Is it still worth repairing an iPad this age?
For a family or school device, almost always. It still handles browsing, video and schoolwork perfectly well, and £99.99 is a small fraction of a replacement.
How long does a repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 24 hours of your iPad reaching our workshop. Overall turnaround including postage both ways is typically 3–5 working days door to door.
Can I drop it off instead of posting it?
Yes, our Harlow workshop takes walk-ins as well as postal repairs. Book online first and we’ll have the part ready when you arrive.
Will I lose my data?
No, our repairs don’t affect your data. That said, we always recommend backing up beforehand as a precaution before any repair.
