iPad 9th Gen repairs explained

The 9th generation is the last of the classic iPads with a Home button and a bezel that comes in black or white — which matters when you book, because the replacement screen has to match. Check the border around your display before ordering: if it’s white around the glass, you need the white screen.

iPad 9th Gen screen repair

£99.99 in either colour, covered by our lifetime warranty. On this generation the glass and the display are separate layers rather than one bonded unit, which is part of why the repair is affordable — but it also means it’s worth telling us exactly what’s wrong. If the glass is cracked but the picture underneath is perfect, that’s a different job to a display that’s showing lines or black patches.

Send us a photo if you’re unsure and we’ll tell you what it actually needs before you pay for anything.

iPad 9th Gen camera repair

£74.99, for blurred images, a camera that won’t focus, or cracked lens glass over the rear camera.

Is it still worth repairing?

The 9th gen is several years old now, but it still runs current iPadOS and remains perfectly capable for browsing, video and schoolwork. At £99.99 a screen repair is a small fraction of a replacement tablet, so for most owners it’s an easy decision. Battery and charging port repairs aren’t priced online — get in touch and we’ll quote you.

Common questions

The things customers usually ask before booking an iPad 9th Gen repair.

How do I know whether I need a black or white screen?

Look at the border around the display when the iPad is switched off. If the frame around the glass is white, choose White; if it’s black, choose Black. It’s not the same as the colour of the back of the tablet — a silver iPad usually has a white bezel, a space grey one usually has black.

My glass is cracked but the picture is fine. Is that cheaper?

Possibly. On this generation the glass and display are separate layers, so damage to one doesn’t always mean replacing both. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you what it needs rather than quoting for the larger job by default.

Is it still worth repairing an iPad this age?

For most people yes — it still runs current iPadOS and handles browsing, video and schoolwork perfectly well. At £99.99 a screen repair is a small fraction of what a replacement costs.

Do you repair iPad batteries?

Yes, though it isn’t priced online for this model. iPad batteries are glued in and take longer than a phone battery, so get in touch and we’ll quote you properly.

How long does a repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 24 hours of your iPad reaching our workshop. Overall turnaround including postage both ways is typically 3–5 working days door to door.

Can I drop it off instead of posting it?

Yes, our Harlow workshop takes walk-ins as well as postal repairs. Book online first and we’ll have the part ready when you arrive.

Will I lose my data?

No, our repairs don’t affect your data. That said, we always recommend backing up beforehand as a precaution before any repair.
